- pianist, composer, music theorist, graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, where he studied piano with Professors Bronisława Kawalla, Edward Wolanin and Krystyna Borucińska (2001), as well as the theory of music (2002). As a holder of a two-year Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) scholarship, he completed a two-year postgraduate Konzertexamen programme for the piano, supervised by Professor Dr. h. c. Arbo Valdma at the Hochschule für Musik Köln. He also graduated from a two-year postgraduate programme in contemporary chamber music led by Prof. David Smeyers at the Hochschule für Musik Köln, where he obtained a Kammermusikexamen diploma. In the years 2006-2008 he pursued doctoral studies at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. He earned his PhD in 2010. From 2007 until 2012 he worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, and in 2013-2016 was assistant professor at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. Since 2013, he has been working in the Department of Contemporary Music, Jazz and Percussion at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, where he is assistant professor. In 2019 he obtained habilitation degree.
He wrote over thirty compositions for diverse sets of instruments. Significant part of his compositional work are pieces for two pianos and for piano four hands, which have been performed in european countries for over a decade. In 2019 his composition for piano four hands was released by PWM edition with its CD recording played by the composer in Sonami Piano Duo ensemble.
Piotr Kędzierski has collaborated with such composers and performers as Krzysztof Meyer, Zbigniew Bargielski, James Reynolds, Jan Pilch, Johannes Fritsch, Paulo Alvares, Carola Bauckholt, and Elżbieta Sikora. He has attended international master classes run by, inter alia, Nicolas Hodges, Paul Gulda, Georg Steinschaden, Bernard Roberts, Martino Tirimo, Adrian Cox, Bracha Eden, Alexander Tamir, Peter Eicher, and Martyn van den Hoek. The pianist has premiered and recorded works for Westdeutscher Rundfunk, Feedback Studio Köln, Deutsche Welle, Funkhaus Europa, TV Polonia, as well as for Polish Radio Two. BIS Polish Radio has recorded a programme devoted to his musical career.

On the occasion of Poland’s accession to the European Union, Piotr Kędzierski was officially honoured by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Cologne for his “special contribution to the work for the benefit of Poland and Poles in common Europe”. In 2010 he and Justyna Piękoś were appointed Artistic Directors of the International Piano Festival Chopin jenseits aller Grenzen – Marienburger Martineen (May – October 2010) in Cologne. His contribution to Polish culture outside of the country was officially recognised by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
Since 2009, he and his wife Justyna Piękoś formed the Sonami Piano Duo, which primarily performs contemporary music in Poland and abroad. The Duo makes recordings of polish contemporary music for two pianos,piano four hands and mixed ensembles, i.a. on Mosaic CD (2019) on which there are compositions that have not been recorded nor released before, and some of them have.
