COMPETITION REGULATIONS
§ 1 The organization of the competition
- The 4th International Chamber Competition KraCamera 2024 (hereafter reffered to as „Competition“) is organized by the Foundation W Świecie Muzyki, based in Cracow, Poland (hereafter reffered to as „Organizer“).
- The competition is dedicated to young musicians and aims to promote chamber music, classical chamber literature and young talents. The competition is meant to be a place for musical encounters – for children and young people, giving them a chance to gain an experience of public performance.
- The competition hearings will take place on 16.05 - 19.05.2024 in Cracow. This year's edition of the Competition is carried out online.
- The information about the Competition is provided on the web page www.fwsm.pl
§ 2 Participants
- The Competition is open to children and young people from Poland and the abroad - educated in public and private institutions.
- The Competition is open to participants in homogeneous instrumental chamber ensembles as well as chamber ensembles of different instrumental composition, duets to octets, performing classical music as well as larger instrumental ensembles (9-20 people).
- Participants age categories:
- Category A – little beginners: born in 2015 and younger - free program up to 5 minutes
- Category B: born in 2012 and younger – free program up to 5 minutes
- Category C: born in 2009 and younger – free program up to 10 minutes
- Category D: born in 2005 and younger – free program up to 15 minutes
- Category E: born in 1994 and younger – free program up to 20 minutes
The category of each chamber group is determined by the age of the oldest group member.
4.The competition is organized in the following instrumental sections:
- Section I – Wind Ensembles – from a duo to an octet
- Section II – String Ensembles – from a duo to an octet
- Section III – Piano Duos
- Section IV - Accordion Ensembles - from a duo to an octet
- Section V - Percussion Ensembles - from a duo to an octet
- Section VI – Guitar Ensembles - from a duo to an octet
- Section VII – Mixed Ensembles - from a duo to an octet
- Section VIII - Large Instrumental Ensembles - from 9 to 20 people
All chamber ensembles that do not consist solely of homogeneous instruments or are not piano duets automatically belong to the mixed ensembles section.
For section VIII - all teams from 9 to 20 people are qualified, regardless for instrumental composition!
§ 3 Conditions of Participation
- Competition hearings are carried out in form of video recordings.
- The application for participation shall be submitted by application form on the website www.fwsm.pl . The deadline is 10.05.2024.
- In order to take part in the KraCamera 2024 competition, you must complete the interactive application form available on the website of the competition organizer: www.fwsm.pl, enclosing a link to the recording and a confirmation of payment and a scanned identity document of the participants in the designated fields. The Organizer considers the identity document to be: passport, ID card, school or student ID card.
By completing and submitting the form, you accept the Regulations and consent to the processing of personal data (GDPR available at www.fwsm.pl).
4. Every application must include a link to the video recording on YouTube. In the video title enter: KraCamera 2024, ensembly name, section and category, while in the description of the video listing the names and surnames of the participants and the program performed.
The video recording on the YouTube platform must be set as a non-public video with disabled option to comment and evaluate.
5. The video recording should be of high quality, showing the entire composition of the intimate unit from the distance to identify contractors musicians participants. Each musical track must be recorded as one video file with original sound recording, without cutting, editing or adding any sound effects. In the case of multiple pieces or cyclic tracks, it is allowed to combine the individual musical tracks into one video movie.
- Participants are charged an entry fee (used for statutary purposes of the Foundation „W Świecie Muzyki”) of:
- 35 EURO for each chamber ensemble performer in categories A and B
- 40 EURO for each chamber ensamble performer in categories C, D and E
- 200 EURO per team - Section VIII, regardless of the age category
- Payment must be made to the following account:

The participants bear all bank transfer costs.
- The entry fee is not refundable.
- The participants transfer free of charge all author’s rights related to the participation in the Competition and video recordings to free use by the Competition Organizer in an unlimited use temporarily and territorially for publishing and promotional reasons like in public playback, introduction to computer and cloud memory as well as a vision and placing on Internet web pages.
- Grand Prix laureates in the previous edition of the Competition may only participate in this edition in the older age category, if possible.
§ 4 Jury
- The evaluation of the each performance will be carried out by the jury named by the organizer, composed of music artists and educators.
- Each jury member rates on a scale from 0-25 points, taking into account the following criteria: the selection of the program, technical side (aesthetics of sound, intonation, articulation), compatibility of interpretation with a formal structure, style and artistic assembling values. The final score is the average of the points.
- The chamber ensembles related to any jury member may take part in the competition, but won’t be valuated by them.
§ 5 Prizes and settlement
- Each chamber ensemble receives diploma for participation.
- The main Grand Prix award in value of 2000 PLN (or corresponding equivalent in Euro) is provided for the best team of the Competition.
- The winners of the first three places and prizes in each section and category receive the laureate titles.
- The Organiser may provide additional special prizes.
- The distribution of prizes remains the decision of the Jury, which also reserves the right not to award prizes or to divide prizes ex aequo.
- The laureates’ teachers receive recognition diplomas.
- The diplomas for the winners will be sent only electronically by email.
- The list of the Competition winners will be published on the Competition page by 28.05.2024.
§ 6 Final Clauses
- In exceptional situations, the Organizer reserves the right to extend the deadline for submitting applications to the Competition, in which case the announcement of the results may be postponed.
- In all matters of substance and organization not falling within the competence of the Jury, the Organizer of the Competition shall be entitled to take decisions which are irrevocable and non-complaining.
